Education, food and medical help for some of the poorest children in North East Thailand have been the vision of Project Leader Deeo for over 22 years. Through education, hundreds of children have been given the chance to escape the poverty trap and avoid being trapped in lives of drug & alcohol abuse or prostitution. Lert Sa Wat is a Thai Christian Project, with Project Leader Deeo & Project Administrator Joop working in partnership with friends in the U.K., Thailand & Norway.
Child Sponsorship
Without qualifications, the future for young people in rural Thailand is bleak.
Lert Sa Wat gives hope through a child sponsorship programme. £20 per month provides a child with school uniform, shoes, P.E kit and bag, the money to have a school meal each day and the opportunity to gain the qualifications necessary to equip them for fulltime employment.

Children’s Home
Lert Sa Wat has taken in children when they have nowhere else to go. The Lert Sa Wat family is small, never more than 7 children at any one time. Children and teenagers eat together, play together, set off for school together, worship together. Young people go away to college or University and return in the holidays. It is a family and they have the joys and sorrows of any large family. A great cause for rejoicing was the graduation of Tee, the oldest boy in the Home.
This year, Goya passed her M4 exams and is now living independently and working. TonKhao is studying Social Work at Korat University and comes home in the holidays.
